Humberside Fire and Rescue Service is seeking to hire a Health, Safety & Environment Advisor who will focus on fostering a positive health and safety culture. The position is based at Service Headquarters in Hull.
The purpose of the role is to support the health and safety Strategies of Humberside Fire & Rescue Service and Humberside Police through the Joint Health and Safety Service (JHSS).
We are looking for someone who will take proactive steps to develop a positive, compliant safety culture within Humberside Fire & Rescue Service (HFRS) and Humberside Police (HP). This individual will enhance existing strategies and drive progress across the departments and districts. They will support both HFRS and HP in reducing risks in high-risk working environments and provide advisory support to ensure that both services comply with all relevant health and safety legislation.
An ideal candidate for the role should have/be:
- Experienced in managing health and safety risk
- Hold a NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent
- A detailed knowledge of health and safety legislation
- Computer literate, including working knowledge of Office 365
- The ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
- A flexible approach and can-do attitude
- Able to travel to other locations within the Humberside region
