Humberside Fire and Rescue Service are looking to appoint a Health, Safety & Environment Advisor with a focus on Environmental Sustainability to join our Health, Safety & Environment Team at Service Headquarters based in Hull.

The purpose of the role is to support the Environmental Sustainability Strategies of Humberside Fire & Rescue Service and Humberside Police through the Joint Health and Safety Service (JHSS).

We are seeking an individual who will be proactive in the development of a positive Environmental Sustainability culture within Humberside Fire & Rescue Service (HFRS) and Humberside Police (HP). Who will develop existing strategies and progress outcomes through the Environmental Sustainability Development Group (ESDG). Who will support both HFRS and HP in our journey towards becoming carbon neutral and increase understanding, recording and reduction of scope 1,2 and 3 emissions. Who will also provide an advisory role to ensure both Services comply with all appropriate legislation.

An ideal candidate for the role should have/be:

  • Experienced in managing environmental risk
  • Hold or working towards a NEBOSH qualification in environmental management
  • A detailed knowledge of environmental legislation
  • Computer literate including working knowledge of Office 365
  • The ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
  • A flexible approach and can-do attitude
  • Able to travel to other locations within the Humberside region
