Equality and Inclusion Priorities and Actions Consultation

We’re reaching out to our communities to help us review our actions under our Equality and Inclusion Priorities. These were first created four years' ago in line with our responsibility under the Equality Act 2010 Public Sector Equality Duty.

We report on what we are doing to meet the Priorities and to find out what we’ve achieved so far, please visit our webpage

After four years’ it’s time to review and this is where we need your help. Are we going in the right direction? Should we consider another route or action? We don’t have all the answers, but by talking with our communities we can have the conversations that will help us discover what we should be aiming for.

Our current Equality and Inclusion Priorities are:

Priority 1            Leading by example on equality
Priority 2            Increasing diversity throughout our workforce
Priority 3            Ensure a safe and fair workplace for all staff
Priority 4            Continue to improve our knowledge of our diverse communities and how we engage with them
Priority 5            Identifying the fire and other emergency risks linked to multiple disadvantage and discrimination

We are consulting Monday 12 October to Friday 20 November 2020.
