Blue and Green Squads undertook their second week of BA training (Breathing Apparatus training).
We covered theoretical and practical sessions on guide lines and branch lines, which are used in search and rescue, and we had a great practical session at Scunthorpe Fire Station.
We also learnt why anti-entanglement training is so important for Firefighters, as we completed the theoretical and practical sessions.
The highlight of the week was a hot wear session called “exercise steamy windows”. It has been by far the hottest exercise of our BA course but everybody got stuck in and we all have a good understanding of what “it’s bouncing in there” really means!
All in all it was a great week, time to get our heads in the books over the weekend and prepare for assessment week.
