To Goole White Watch. who came to Reedness on Friday 16 December. There aren't enough words to say thankyou for coming to my aid. I don't think we all appreciate you are always there until we need you. I can't praise you enough, have a very Merry Christmas.

Thank you to Terry and FF Young so much for attending our meeting on Wednesday, the members thoroughly enjoyed the evening, which was very informative and very thought provoking. In appreciation we have sent a donation of £40 to The Fire Fighters Charity.

Students and parents were incredibly grateful for your invaluable guidance and insights. Many of our students have emailed me this morning asking me to pass on their thanks.

St Anthony's: Just like to say a big thank you for today, the children really enjoyed it! Lots of positive reviews.

I want to say a special thanks and show my immense gratitude to the 3 firefighters that came to assist me on 8 December. After I had a fall in the house and was waiting on an ambulance, I called the fire service for assistance. They arrived within ten minutes and the crew treated me with such respect and dignity and made me feel at ease. Thank you so much for definitely making a difference.

February

I would like to say a huge 'thank you' to Humberside Fire Service for attending the Tree Planting Event at Grant Thorold Park today. The firefighters who attended were so helpful and happy to assist us in making the event such a success. Nothing was too much for them which we greatly appreciated -I look forward to working with you again at future events.

Thank you for playing a pivotal part in the Defra Flood Rescue Tactical Advisor course hosted by London Fire Brigade In January 2023. Your commitment and support to the course ensured a worthwhile, rewarding week for the delegates. Your contribution ensured a successful week for all, resulting in new Flood Rescue Tactical Advisor’s being introduced to the cadre and added to the National Asset Register.

Little Einstein’s Children Centre: I would just like to thank the team for visiting us yesterday. The children had a great time and your crew were really friendly and professional. Thanks again.

Scunthorpe Rotary club: I would personally like to thank Michelle for coming on Tuesday lunchtime to give us a very interesting talk especially with such a busy roll in the fire service .Our members thoroughly enjoyed listening to her and were keen to ask her questions. Will you please thank her very much for giving up her valuable time.

I would like to say a huge thank you to Scunthorpe (and other crews who attended) Fire Service who attended a serious RTC on the M181/A1077 evening of 24 Feb, I was the first EMAS clinician on scene. I can’t stress enough how grateful I am for all your teams efforts in supporting the care of the patients, they all did an amazing job. The CPR and airway management from your team was by far the best non-medically trained BLS I have ever witnessed. The team supporting the other patient who provided oxygen, kept him warm and gave reassurance was invaluable which certainly contributed to keeping him stable until further ambulance support arrived. Once again thank you for all your help from myself and on behalf of the ambulance service. Please pass on my gratitude to those involved.

March

Morning of 28 Feb I called at Tesco Extra at Scunthorpe where a man had collapsed, fortunately one of your officers was there and he did not hesitate to help this poor man. He acted in a very professional manner helping the man, took charge until the ambulance arrived. Please give him my thanks And no doubt his family’s thanks for his terrific efforts.

Rambling Tots Childminding Service: Thank you for allowing us to visit the fire station. We really enjoyed our visit to you and appreciated your time, as well as how good you were with the little children. They are so excited and are still talking all about it.

Hull Engagers meeting: Lynnsey from Living with Water thanked you for attending and supporting an event with residents on Rosemead Street.

I work for the Community Urgent Care Team in Grimsby had had to call on one of the teams to attend a patient’s house around 11pm last night that we needed to give medical care to and was unable to gain entry. Two lovely gentlemen arrived and gained us entry, FF Scott and a lovely young gentleman who’s name I’ve forgotten were lovely, courteous and couldn’t do enough for us, making sure the gentlemen’s house was secure on leaving. Please pass on our thanks to them both. They are a credit to your service.

Franklin Thrive: Just a quick email to say thank you so much for delivering workshops at our STEM Conference. It was a hugely successful day and I hope you found it to be a brilliant experience, as the students most certainly did!

St Martin's Primary school: I just wanted to email to thank the fantastic team at Epworth Fire Brigade. They recently visited our primary school and were so informative, helpful and engaging. Our Reception class were mesmerized and blown-away by the fire fighters and fire engine. It is not very often our children were speechless but they were that day. They loved the morning meeting the team and seeing the equipment.

Bridlington MASH (Military Assistance Social Hub): What a fantastic turnout from your crew. We were expecting Martyn and a couple of crew but we never expected a full watch and an engine. My veterans were stunned and really appreciated the time your guys spent with them. We are so grateful to you. Please pass on our thanks to Blue Watch from Bridlington and Martyn from the Humberside Fire Service for their attendance and for their charm and care towards our veterans. Very much appreciated. Thank you.

Martin, Thank you so much for today's talk at the Football Club. I think they would have kept you there all day with all their questions! And thank you for being such an engaging speaker. Everyone enjoyed your presentation and wished we had had more time!

We own a local PT business which also holds group exercise sessions. We were asked by Blue Watch at Immingham East Fire Station, to display a poster in our salon to promote some recruitment days that the brigade were holding. After speaking to the two firefighters who came out, I asked what the entry requirements were and said that I would ask my class members if anyone was interested. The firefighters were very helpful and offered to show us some of the functional training required for anyone interested in applying. We decided that holding a group exercise class there based on this functional training would be a great way for lots of people to experience a little bit of what the fire service is all about and for anyone who maybe interested in joining it gave them an opportunity to try some of the activities required. One of the girls from our group is very interested in becoming a firefighter so she came along to the class too. We did a bleep test then completed the training. All of the firefighters were fantastic. They helped everyone to feel comfortable, they were accommodating and made sure it was a great experience for all our class. It was tough but great fun and all of our class had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed it. I would like to personally thank all the firefighters at blue watch for their time and efforts organizing this event for us and especially for their help with our young lady who would like to apply. They made the night one to remember, it was great fun and very informative. A huge success, thank you.

Westcott Tots. Had a visit this morning, my daughter loved it. There was a lady called Lucy who spoke to Veronica about becoming a firefighter and made her feel really happy, just wanted to send a message to say thank you!

April

I just wanted to email and say thank you very much for the swift response in sending the 2 gentlemen to sort out the extinguisher problem that we had. I only emailed this morning, and they arrived just after 1.00. They were both so helpful and friendly. Many thanks, Michelle.

I attended the NFST stage of the R & S process yesterday which was excellent, unfortunately I very sadly did not pass. However, I wanted to pass on my feedback with regard to the process and would be grateful if you could pass my comments to the appropriate officers/instructors please. From the beginning of the process I found all the communications and instructions very clear, concise and helpful. I found all the stages very useful and extremely relevant as well as very informative about the role of a fire fighter. The assessments were thought provoking and gave a useful insight into the role which in turn helped to understand more as well as assist in determining if I felt I was right for the role. The NFSTs were excellent and again gave a real insight as to the mental and physical strength and fitness required for the role. I sadly cannot comment on the process going forward but would be grateful if you could pass on my thanks to all the instructors involved in the stage 1 fitness test and the NFST stage as all were extremely helpful and supportive and I genuinely enjoyed undertaking all the tests. I await the recruitment process opening up again. - Debbie

To White Watch Scunthorpe: Can I just say what I great experience it was taking my little boy and girl to the fire station. My little boy really loved it, and please pass on my thanks to Anthony and Chris who made us all welcome and made my boys day with how welcoming they both was with us. Many thanks again

May

We wanted to take a minute to say thankyou for the great care, kindness and service you gave my mum by supporting the ambulance crew. She had fallen down the stairs, resulting in a broken hip. You responded quickly, efficiently and took great care of her. I could not fault the service you gave and are indebted to you all. So again thankyou very much. Regards Laura

Thanks to Bridlington GREEN Watch on Friday 5 May 2023 ‘RTC Scene Safety’ for their professionalism and actions at the incident.

Swanland School: Please can you pass on our thanks to the wonderful Green Watch for their visit this morning. The children really had a wonderful time and the crew were absolutely fantastic at engaging the children with activities and information. They loved squirting the water and sitting in the cab! It was the perfect start to our topic. Many thanks also to you for all of your organising- it was fab! Thanks again.

Neil and Spencer (part of the hydrants team) came today to St Mary’s Church, Wansford, Driffield, to check our fire fighting equipment. They were prompt, courteous, friendly and efficient. They came following on from the installation of some equipment provided by HF&R last year when, once again, the person who came was a pleasure to meet. We wish them all well.

I am sending this email to say a massive thank you. It was so very much appreciated that you took time and effort yesterday to attend the Annual Air Raid Memorial Service. It was an honour and privilege to have yourself there in attendance. From the feedback we have received thus far it was a huge success and has received good positive press. I sincerely thank you for contributing, you did us proud. It is fantastic to have these events and involve the local community, it brings about a sense of belonging and was a truly excellent platform as a mark of remembrance. It was also commented on how great it was to have 3 generations there e.g. trinity school, our serving armed forces, emergency services as well as our veterans and the Lord Lieutenant representing his Majesty The King. Again thank you for your time and commitment. Plans will be started soon for next year’s memorial and we looking forward to inviting you again to take place in this special event in Hulls History. Kind Regards and very best wishes.

June

Winterton Junior School: I would just like to say a massive thank you to yourself and Sue for coming into talk about road safety. I hear it went extremely well as was invaluable to our pupils. I do hope we can book you again next year.

Just a quick message to say thank you for making Thorpe Park such a great event. Both pupils and teaching staff commented on what a fantastic day they had. Thanks again

Hi, I work for the Community Urgent Care Team based in Grimsby ,and had to call out your team to gain entry to a patients home on 28th June those who attended were nothing but helpful, courteous and kind. They also put a new smoke detector in the lady’s home, we always receive good service from your teams whenever we have to call them out. A little thank-you goes a long way, so thank-you to them all.

On Sunday evening you visited my 87 yr old dad after his linked fire alarm went off following his enthusiastic cooking of some lamb chops. He told me all about the visit last night and I wanted to drop a note of thanks to the crews that visited. It was clear from what my dad told me that not only was there absolutely no judgement from your crews for the accidental call-out but that also your crew members took the time to do some fire safety awareness with my dad. Thanks so much to your team for taking care of him and for helping to support him to continue to live independently.

I just wanted to say thank-you so much for the great passing out event you put on yesterday. We were made to feel so welcome from the moment we arrived and everyone we came into contact with was so friendly, cheerful and polite. I was really struck by how many fire service personnel were in attendance and how everyone was keen to welcome us, chat and inform. A perfect balance was struck between the seriousness of what you all do, the achievements of the new recruits, and a fun day for all ages; we all really enjoyed the whole occasion. And the buffet was really good too! Thank-you.

July

Thank you all so much for the been the amazing people you are!

St Giles beavers and there leaders just wanted to say a massive thankyou for making their night. Firefighters from Hull Central Station response to an emergency call of a fire in the park opposite our scout hut afterwards the firefighters were kind enough to pop and say hi to the beavers and let them watch as they filled the tank back up. So thankyou to a wonderful team, we hope they enjoyed there donuts and look after there cubs firefighters badge!

Can I please take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to Fire Officer Cassandra and White Watch for making the Volunteer Police Cadets from the Grimsby unit so very welcome yesterday. From the moment we arrived till the moment we left we were made welcome and nothing was too much of an issue and the station tour had our cadets wearing your equipment and using the firefighting equipment which I know the cadets enjoyed just about as much as the Cadet Leaders.

Snaith arrived within 10 minutes of me making the call, the Crew were absolutely brilliant I can not thank them enough they showed my mum so much care and I even witnessed it all as I had mum on facetime.

Many thanks to our Fire Service who came promptly to get our granddaughter out of a stuck lift.

Lovely day had by all, so appreciate the referral and Kieran doing all the communication.

Hi I’m not sure what crew it was that I’m trying to thank but I’m sure they will know who they are they carried my daughter Heather out of a very wet dark slippy field in Cottingham on Monday 14 August to get her safely to the ambulance you guys are all amazing we can’t say thank you enough from the Bell family.

I just wanted to email to say thank you for hosting our visit yesterday evening and engaging with our cadets. I know that they thoroughly enjoyed the visit (as did the staff!) and that we would love to come again in the future some time.

I just want to pass on the grateful thanks of the British Red Cross for all the effort that went into this year's Beverley open day. It was a brilliant community day; in all the years we've held this event, I've never seen so many families turn out - maybe they were all desperate for a change of scenery at this stage of the summer holidays, but whatever brought them out, it was rewarding to see so many children there - there was a real buzz about the place!

I just would like to say a big thank you for organising the Fire Engine to come to our Summer Fun Day yesterday. I know it wasn’t for long as I know they had a call out, but the time they was there the children really enjoyed this.

Just a quick line to thank you very much for a professional and informative visit today. I am so impressed with the service from Ry.

I was absolutely bowled over by how efficient the response to my call was, within minutes your team were at my door , smoke alarms fitted making my house a safer place to be as I am unable to change batteries on existing fire alarms due to fractured humerous at 13 weeks still not allowing me to stretch up .I can't thank you all enough. It is one of the nicest things that has happened to me in ages for people to be so helpful and genuine, absolutely professional. I can't sing praises enough. I am a nurse and you all outdid my professionalism.

Thank you both for arranging this lovely day yesterday, we thoroughly enjoyed the getaway, the experience of what was something we have never explored the beautiful canal works. We hope to get another opportunity in future for the team. From Salem, Jamal and Yusuf.

I just wanted to say a very big thank you for your excellent presentation at Scunthorpe recently. It was a very slow start really, through no fault of our own, but we got there eventually, albeit a little late. As usual, you were the consummate professional that we've come to expect. You delivered your presentation with such professionalism, but you also came across very friendly as well, which always goes well at such an event. Everyone really loved the whole thing, including the visitors to the speed van, they were all talking about it, saying how the two things went together so well. It made me smile somewhat, I mean they shouldn't have been that surprised really. It just goes to show that we all still have to keep learning. Also the freebies were most welcome too. Thanks very much once again for a great evening all round.

Just a thanks for you to pass on to crews and officers from your services for their support dealing with domestic fires affecting a number of properties at Whispering Meadows in Sykehouse, Doncaster this afternoon. Please pass on my sincere thanks, CFO Chris Kirby.

September

Recently one of the SRH operatives came to Scunthorpe & Grimsby advanced motorists, and gave us a brilliant presentation on her work. Sue was an absolute pleasure to listen to, with her friendly ways of delivering her message. She gave us a tremendous insight into what SRH does and the part she, and others play in it. Sue also arranged for a speed van to come along, to show us all exactly what it looks like and how it works. I believe the gent concerned was called Carl Phillips, and everything he showed us was really very well received.

I understand that you recently attended an incident at Animal Farm, North End, Goxhill to rescue a gentleman who had fallen from his main roof onto a side flat roof. The gentleman’s wife approached me over the weekend whilst I was out walking my dog and asked me to pass on her thanks for the way you responded and dealt with the incident. She couldn’t speak highly enough of you all and wanted to ensure that I would pass on her thoughts. She also wanted to advise you that her husband is now home and doing well but sporting a full side of broken ribs and still recovering from a bleed on the brain. As the Area Manager for Emergency Response, it is great to receive this kind of feedback and even more so when it is from people very local to me. Well done and keep up the good work, it is very much appreciated.
