Calvert Lane Fire Station Family Fun Day
11 June 2014
Calvert Lane Fire Station in Hull is hosting an open day on Sunday 22 June, where there’ll be lots of fun for the whole family to enjoy. There will be stalls and games such as ‘soak the fireman’, a crockery smash and a chance for the children to meet Fireman Sam.
Andy Johnson, the organiser of the event, said: “This is great way to bring to community together and help raise money for local charities. People who come along can have a look around our fire engine and it’s a chance to meet their local Firefighters.”
Humberside Police Special Constabulary will also be there to speak to people who are interested in becoming a Special Constable and the Royal Marines have now confirmed that visitors can have a go at their Commando Challenge.
Members of the public can bring their mobile phones, bikes and other items of value along to be marked and registered with immobilise.com, which is a website that helps police identify the owners of lost and stolen property.
“Amongst the hotdog stand, raffle and tombola people can enjoy music from DJ Jazzy Johnson and have a go on the karaoke. I hope to see members of the local community come down to enjoy the fun, everyone is welcome,” Andy added.
The fun day is free to enter and gates open at 11am – 3pm
