Charity fundraisers thanked in the bank
15 August 2014
DCFO Chris Blacksell popped in to HSBC on Priory Park to thank two members of staff who have helped raise thousands of pounds for the Fire Fighters Charity.
Anna Rainbird (pictured left) and Charlotte Radley both have personal links to the Humberside Fire and Rescue Service, with Anna’s uncle working as a retained firefighter at Brough Fire Station. Over the last two years the pair, who work at Merit House on Saxon Way, have organised car washes, summer fairs and have manned stalls at Calvert Lane’s popular Open Day. In total they have made around £2,000, which HSBC has generously match funded.
DCFO Blacksell presented each of them with a bouquet of flowers and a framed certificate to recognise their achievements.
The Fire Fighters Charity provides financial and medical support to both serving and retired firefighters as well as their widows and orphans. The £4,000 raised by Anna and Charlotte will be greatly welcomed by the charity.
