Peaks Lane Fire Station, established in 1964, is the largest station in Humberside Fire and Rescue Service. The station is crewed by Full-Time firefighters and home to the local Prevention team. The area has a high concentration of housing including several estates such as the Nunsthorpe Estate. The area covers Grimsby Fish Dock, Grimsby Town FC and Freshney Place shopping Centre. There is also a lot of industry in this area as well as the Diana Princess of Wales Hospital.
