Welcome to Humberside Fire and Rescue Service's National Fire Cadet Scheme.

The Fire Cadet Programme has been created to give young people the opportunity to engage with their local fire service. It gives them the chance to explore the many different career options that the fire and rescue service can offer and gives them a taste of what it is like to be part of a uniformed organisation. It has been designed specifically to improve core skills:

  • Communication
  • Teamwork
  • Initiative

We ask our cadets to be reliable, committed to the programme and be willing to try new things and stretch their comfort zone in a safe environment.

We, in return, will offer them opportunities to increase their confidence and resilience and to be a part of thousands of other young people across the UK who are helping out their communities and representing their Fire Service locally and nationally.
