January
To Bridlington Fire Station: Thank you to the three officers who fitted two smoke alarms as the ones I had kept giving the alarm. They came very quickly and sorted them out.
To Barton Fire Station: Hi, I just wanted to say thank you and let you know how grateful I was to the three lads that attended me from Barton Station. Due to illness my legs are very weak and I had fallen and did not have the strength to get back up. I had laid on the floor over two hours but crews arrived 15 minutes after a phone call was made to them. I was so relieved when they came through the door. They treated me with so much compassion and respect and even though I had fallen in a confined space they were carefully able to move me a little then two of them lifted me to my feet and held me steady for a few minutes then helped me to my chair. They had a brilliant attitude and did a superb job. Thank you again.
To Bransholme Fire Station: I would like to take a moment to commend Dean Walker and his team for their outstanding work in supporting a gentleman who was experiencing a significant mental health crisis. The individual was in a state where he felt suicidal, and the crews went above and beyond to assist him. They took the time to listen to his calls, responded with empathy, and demonstrated great skill in calming him down. Their actions not only provided immediate comfort but also helped to keep his mind occupied until the crisis team was able to follow up and provide further support. Such dedication and professionalism make a real difference in moments of crisis, and I believe they deserve recognition for their commitment to the well-being of those in need.
To Withernsea Fire Station: Just say a huge thank you for your attendance. A man came to sort us out and got an engine to our flooded house to pump water from a nearby field and left us safe.
I would like to pass on my thanks and gratitude to everyone from Pocklington Fire Station who attended to rescue my horse from the ice on Sunday 12 January. The crews were very patient and considered in their approach and the manner they dealt with the situation treating my horse, myself and my partner with respect, care and empathy was incredible. I am astounded by the care and support that was given and will be eternally grateful to each and every member of the crews who attended. I truly cannot thank everyone enough.
To Control and Brough Fire Station, many many thanks to the crew who came to check on my CO2 levels, you are doing a great job and keep it up, they turned up so quickly.
Just wanted to say thank you to Jody & Connor from the Falls Team. They quickly responded to my mother who had a fall at home. They arrived and treated her with so much dignity and respect and got her back to her feet. They are an absolute credit to your service! Thank you once again!
To Withernsea Fire Station, To those who visited Foundation Stage at Withernsea Primary School on Wednesday 22 January 2025, on behalf on the school we would just like to say a huge thank
you to the firefighters who attended with the fire engine. The children had
such a fantastic experience exploring the fire engine, taking turns to sit
inside the fire engine and using the hose to spray water everywhere! The
children asked lots of really important questions, which links to our current
topic of ‘People who help us’. The children even went home and shared their
experiences with their families and some children now want to be firefighters
when they grow up! Thank you for giving this opportunity to our children!
To Prevention and Hornsea Fire Station, to those who gave a presentations and let the kids see the fire engine, thank you! Everyone loved the visit and we cannot thank Humberside Fire and Rescue enough for your time today. Your team was amazing.

Knight Rugby Club would like to say a special thank you to everyone who was involved with the academies session yesterday! It was awesome.
To Prevention, the students have loved your session and have learned a lot. I am sure we will be booking you for future sessions.
To Peaks Lane Fire Station, thank you for being an amazing fire and rescue service. You rescued my cat and I am so very grateful. I was in a state of shock, but the three members that responded were amazing, kind, professional and my cat has survived her ordeal in the washing machine, thanks to them. She is back to her normal self with a slightly crooked tail. Thank you again to all those staff involved. You were brilliant and do such important work. Thank you so much.
To Kirton in Lindsey Fire Station, last night my car was involved in an RTA outside my girlfriend’s house, the car was badly damaged and then set on fire. Your team responded quickly and provided an invaluable service, so I just wanted to say thank you for all your help and for the guys in the crew that were having a chat with me afterwards.
To Prevention, thank you so much for a very informative and varied day. It was great to see how your service interlinks with other professional services, ensuring the safety of our communities. The home visits attended today proved how vital your service is and evidenced multi-professional partnership working inaction; truly excellent! The knowledge provided today shall stay with me and, moreover, improve how I view a patient’s property when doing an oxygen home safety check. Equally, I shall view my own home with a new set of safety goggles to improve our home safety. Invaluable!!
To Beverley Fire Station, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to you and your team for allowing us to park our minibuses in the Fire Station car park for the past three months. Your help in accommodating us during our car park development project was greatly appreciated, and it made a real difference to the smooth operation of our services. Your support has been invaluable to us, and we are very grateful for the flexibility you provided. Please pass along our thanks to everyone involved in this arrangement. Once again, thank you for your kindness and support.
To Bransholme Fire Station, I was down Newbridge Road in Hull last night where several of your crews were called to an incident. I was stuck inside a shop whilst the incident was sorted and watched with admiration at one young lady in particular. Although all of your crew are amazing, she really stood out. She had such a tiny frame but was so fast and agile and carried the equipment so quickly and with ease, it was fascinating to watch. If she were my colleague or family member I would have been so proud. We were able to briefly chat with the crew as they were leaving and all of them were so polite and friendly. It’s rare the public get to see firefighters in action like that and they were all a complete credit to the service. Just wanted to say well done.
To Howden Fire Station, following a recent Home Fire Safety Visit I would just like to say thank you to the crews that visited my mum and dad. They were very helpful, and it was of great comfort and reassurance that they received just a great service.

To the Falls Team, thank you for your kindness and professionalism, your service is invaluable.
To East Hull White Watch, Thankyou so much to your firefighters for putting out the roof fire we had and saving our house on 3 March we can never thank you all enough!
To Bransholme Red Watch, Please pass on all of our many thanks for taking the time to visit us at Cleeve this morning! The children absolutely loved it and I know this will be a memory that they will treasure for a long time! Every one of the firefighters that came were so amazing with the children; allowing all of them to have a go with the hose and sit on the engine! To see the excitement of all the children was just amazing and we all had such a great morning. The nursery class are busy making a craft fire engine which they were excited to tell the firemen about - so when this is finished I will make sure to get a photo sent to you! Thanks again from all of us in EYFS at Cleeve!
To Scunthorpe White Watch and Prevention Team, Thank you so much again for today, the career leaders and North Lincolnshire council employees got so much out of it, I certainly learned a thing or two (no more charging my phone overnight included lol)! Please do extend our thanks to all of your team, the insight into the hidden opportunities, overview of the 3 day work experience model and the operational team and their thorough demonstration and time to explain what they do and the equipment they use, attendees said what a great time they had and it was very insightful. Thank you.
Dear White Watch, Clough Road, Hull I would absolutely love to thank all of you so very, very much for all your bravery and ridiculously hard work when super fast (it can't be called anything less than that) attending the combi boiler explosion and subsequent house fire at my family's house. According to my neighbour, between my daughter Layla-Rose calling 999 (she is only 13 years old, and so a very brave and smart person too!) and your arrival, less than 4 or 5 minutes had passed, which is just incredible. We cannot believe the response time. I got my family out, and they are medically fine after a trip to Hull Royal, and were discharged after a couple of hours. My initial exposure to the fire caused only minor burns and a weekend stay in ICU where only minimal damage from smoke inhalation and the incredible heat inhalation has occurred. The quick initial medical attention given by one member of White Watch undoubtedly saved me and my son, 11 years old, (both given oxygen) from much further damage. Huge thanks to the White Watch members who went into our house and upstairs into the inferno and extinguished the fire. You guys are true heroes who put your lives on the line. I, and my family, cannot repay all of you enough. What you all did was quite simply amazing and we are all truly, truly grateful for what you all did. I saw two of your team go in, the most courageous thing I have ever seen. My mum, (75 years old), who was also there, would also like to extend her grateful thanks to the White Watch members who helped her secure the property once the fire was out. As I was incapacitated at the time (sent away to A&E in an ambulance), your helping her was the greatest comfort and above and beyond your duties. Whatever I write here cannot really even begin to express our gratitude, but you have all of our deepest, and sincerest respect and thanks for ever more. We love you all White Watch.
To Blue Watch, Calvert Lane, A huge thank you to Blue Watch with regards to our home school visit (KS1 and KS2). The staff couldn't have been more enthusiastic or engaging with the kids. They had an absolutely fantastic time.
To Pocklington Fire Station, I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for the outstanding service provided by the crew at the fire station opposite my residence in Pocklington. Their polite demeanour and willingness to assist with small tasks, have made a positive impression on me. It is unfortunate that emergency service personnel often remain under recognised for their contributions. I take pride in showing my appreciation by providing biscuits and chocolate around the holiday season, as a small token of thanks for their service. Thank you for leading such an exemplary team. I feel fortunate to have such dedicated professionals in our community.
To Red Watch, Bransholme Fire Station, Thank you for letting us come to the station for a tour of the facilities, letting us sit in the fire engine and boats as well as giving us some fire and water safety advice.
