2050 Vision

Future changes across the Humber region, like new housing, transport systems and climate challenges, will affect how emergency services work and respond. That’s why Humberside Fire and Rescue Service is sharing its plan for 2050. It’s a long-term vision that helps us stay strong, improve how we work and keep people safe. This plan isn’t just about fixing problems. It’s about finding new ways to grow and improve, so we stay a trusted emergency service, ready to protect our communities now and in the future.

How have we looked at this?

By 2050, Humberside Fire and Rescue Service will remain committed to protecting life, property and the environment. We will continue to prioritise prevention, resilience and community engagement as core principles of our service. At the same time, the world around us may change dramatically due to climate impacts, technological advances, demographic shifts and governance reforms. This Vision sets out how we will uphold our statutory duties while adapting to emerging risks and opportunities. It uses the PESTELO framework to explore Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Environmental, Legal and Organisational factors, identifying what we will do and what may happen, linking these to our Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP).
