Rookie Reds history
Rookie Reds started in 2017. It was set up by two Firefighters, Jo and Kerry, who at the time had a combined 50 years of experience. They wanted to show people from all backgrounds, especially those who may not have seen themselves in the role before, that there are exciting and rewarding opportunities in the fire service.
They created a free 10-week course to help people learn more and get ready to apply to become a Firefighter. The course takes you through every step of the recruitment journey, including fitness, interview preparation and building the confidence you need to succeed.
No experience is needed - just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
Rookie Reds is a friendly and welcoming place where you’ll meet others, work as a team and support each other. Everyone is treated with respect and encouraged to do their best.
If you’ve ever thought about becoming a Firefighter or just want to find out more, this is your chance.
