A wonderful day as families, friends and colleagues attend the latest Full-Time Firefighter recruits Passing Out Parade at Humberside Fire and Rescue Service Headquarters.

After 14 weeks of intense training, Chief Fire Officer Chris Blacksell praised the 22 Full-Time Firefighter recruits for their dedication and commitment, whilst presenting them with their certificates.

CFO Chris Blacksell said: “It is such an honour to welcome new firefighters, each firefighter plays a pivotal role in keeping our communities and each other safe.”

Guests watched in amazement as the new recruits showcased their fireground skills, which included running out the hose and using ladders in a casualty rescue.

Recruit Trainers awarded the Endeavour Award to Firefighter Lewis Russell and the Instructors Award to Firefighter Shaun Edwards. The Chief Fire Officer presented Firefighter Lyndsay Dungworth with the Silver Axe Award.
