Humberside Fire and Rescue Service this week welcomed a new 21-plate fire engine to its fleet.
Based at Calvert Lane, Hull, the fire engine, by world-renowned manufacturer Scania, is built on to a new generation P280 chassis, and features the latest co-polymer bodywork, providing improved strength and durability.
The fire engine also comes with a number of features with firefighter welfare in mind, such as air-conditioning, to provide a cool area for respite where necessary, and a hot water boiler to enable hand washing and hot drinks. Technical features include the addition of the latest 22mm high-volume hose reel, along with the latest Delta Pro Series (Attack 100) Fire Branches attached.
In addition to these; a new style DeWalt tripod portable scene light and an onboard DeWalt battery charger to compliment the full suite of DeWalt hand tools in use. New style lockers and inline locker shutter handles complete the engine, providing an improved, streamlined look to the bodywork.
