Fire stations across the region are inviting the public to join them for exciting open day events throughout the summer. Visitors will have the chance to meet their local crews, see firefighting and rescue equipment up close and enjoy a range of fun activities and demonstrations.

The open days are designed to showcase the life-saving work carried out by firefighters and offer a unique opportunity to interact with our staff.

Calvert Lane Fire Station, Hull – 14 June, 11 am – 5 pm
Visitors can meet the crew and discover the state-of-the-art rescue equipment used in emergency situations. The event will also feature live rescue drills, where visitors will see first-hand the skills and techniques employed by firefighters during rescue operations. There will be plenty of fun activities for all ages, along with food and refreshments available throughout the day.
Brough Fire Station – 22 June, 11 am – 4 pm
The station will be open to the public, offering another opportunity to meet the local firefighting team, get an up-close look at the rescue vehicles and equipment, and enjoy a day filled with fun, family-friendly activities.
Peaks Lane Firefighters Fête – 12 July, 11 am – 6 pm
This exciting event promises an action-packed day of entertainment, with additional activities, games, and fundraising opportunities to support the local fire service. Don’t miss the chance to meet the firefighters, enjoy some delicious food, and be amazed by live demonstrations.
Beverley Fire Station – 2 August, 11 am – 4 pm
Another great chance for the public to learn about the life-saving work of firefighters. Attendees can explore part of the station, watch demonstrations, and speak with the crews about their essential work.
Pocklington Fire Station – 3 August, 11 am – 4 pm
The event will feature interactive demonstrations, fun activities for all the family, and an opportunity to see the fire engines and rescue gear in action.
Withernsea – Blue Light Weekend, 2 and 3 August, 10 am – 4 pm
The Blue Light Weekend in Withernsea is a unique opportunity for families to visit and find out more on the police, fire and ambulance services, and much more. The event will showcase thrilling demonstrations and offer an interactive experience for all ages. The weekend promises to be a fantastic event for the whole family to enjoy.
