A tribute to the remarkable individuals whose commitment and courage define the spirit of the fire service.

Long Service medals on a purple cushion

Humberside Fire and Rescue Service was proud to host a Long Service and Good Conduct Ceremony at The Guildhall in Hull on Friday 16 May 2025. A truly special occasion to celebrate those who have dedicated their lives to serving others. Their commitment, courage and integrity not only uphold the finest traditions of the fire and rescue service but also inspire all of us who have the privilege of working alongside them.

This event is more than a ceremony, it’s a heartfelt thank you to those who make a real difference every day.

In recognition of their outstanding service, the following awards will be presented:

  • 20-Year Fire Brigade Long Service and Good Conduct Medal
  • 20-Year Award
  • 30-Year Fire Brigade Long Service Clasp
  • 30-Year Award
  • 40-Year Fire Brigade Long Service Clasp
  • 50-Year Certificate

As part of the evening, we observed a minute’s silence to honour those who have sadly lost their lives in the line of duty, following the tragic news shared earlier in the day by Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.

The ceremony highlights the vital role and enduring dedication of firefighters and fire staff who work tirelessly to protect and support their communities. Their long service is not only a testament to their personal commitment but also a foundation of the fire service’s mission to keep people safe.

Humberside Fire and Rescue Service remains deeply grateful to all staff for their continued hard work and dedication in delivering high-quality support and protection to communities across the Humber region.
