Humberside Fire and Rescue Service is delighted to announce that Control Room Watch Manager, Jan Hayton has won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Control Room Awards, recognising her exceptional dedication and contribution to the Service over almost 43 years.

The award celebrates Jan's outstanding career and the lasting impact she has made on colleagues, communities and the wider fire and rescue sector since joining Humberside Fire and Rescue Service in December 1983. 

Throughout her career, Jan has been a highly respected and valued member of Fire Control, known for her professionalism, calm approach and ability to perform under pressure. Drawing on decades of experience, Jan has made a lasting impact through her commitment to developing others, generously sharing her knowledge and mentoring colleagues throughout their careers.  

In recognising Jan with the Lifetime Achievement Award, the judges acknowledged her outstanding contribution, dedication and positive influence over nearly 43 years of service. Colleagues describe her as an exceptional role model whose commitment, professionalism and kindness embody the very best of Humberside Fire and Rescue Service. 

We are incredibly proud of Jan and congratulate her on this well-deserved achievement, which is a fitting tribute to a remarkable career spent supporting colleagues and helping communities when they need us most.
