We are proud of our Fire Service’s strong sense of family, community and committed to be an equal, diverse and inclusive Service. Our Principles and Behaviours; Leadership, Passion, Dependability and Innovation underpin everything we do.
However, we know that there is more that we can do, and we may not always get things right.
If members of our community feel excluded, or that they are not 100% welcome, valued or supported, it means we are not getting it right and we are not doing enough. If you have ever felt this way, it is important that you let us know as we intend to learn from our mistakes. Please contact us through letusknow@humbersidefire.gov.uk
We may find out some uncomfortable truths. However, only with awareness and understanding can we move forward to make real, meaningful change.
We have started becoming more representative of the communities we serve and continue to provide; safer communities, safer firefighters. But know we need to do more.
In 2020, it is indefensible that racism remains part of our and other societies. Discrimination in any form and on any basis, has no place at Humberside Fire and Rescue Service. Please do speak to us about how we can do more to build inclusion in our organisation and community.
We will continue to listen, learn and act.
