Humberside Fire and Rescue Service (HFRS) recently welcomed guests from the local charity, Sight Support Hull and East Riding to its Service Headquarters for a Fire Service Experience.

The visually impaired visitors were given the chance to explore a fire engine and learn about the important work our staff do to keep our communities in the Humber area safe. They had the chance to meet the beloved fire dogs and learnt about the key role they play with HFRS and other emergency response agencies. Our Prevention Team discussed what support they can offer in keeping safe from fire and other risks.

Sarah Wilkinson, Head of Prevention said, "We were delighted to welcome Sight Support to our fire service to discuss what we can do to support them in feeling safe in their home.

"We are always looking for ways to engage with our community and to educate people about the important work we do uniquely and interactively.”

Sight Support has been helping people across Hull and East Yorkshire with visual impairments to live full, active, and happy lives for over 150 years. For further information, please visit their website www.sightsupport.org
