Contract Type: Volunteer

Commitment: 8 hours per month. Weekdays only

Closing Date: Noon on 31st August 2025

Do you have some spare time which could be used to help make Humberside Safer? Do you love a challenge or want to give something back to the community?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Humberside Fire and Rescue Service as a volunteer. We are looking to recruit individuals with a passion for improving the safety of our staff and our community. We are seeking reliable, dynamic, highly motivated individuals to join our team.

As a volunteer, you will play a key role in driving innovation across prevention, inclusion and safeguarding activities. You will play an instrumental part in improving the work of our operational firefighters to deliver our home fire safety visits and key safety messages, educating children, young people and vulnerable people within the community.


Main tasks include:

• Visiting addresses identified to validate or update information to allow Humberside Fire and Rescue Service to communicate effectively

• Collecting information for the service, to ascertain if members of the public will meet the criteria for a Home Fire Safety Visit

• Supporting members of the public to complete surveys/consultation when necessary

• Inputting of data on to our information management system as necessary

• Distributing educational literature

• Signposting to our website for further information, advice and guidance

• Promoting the work of Humberside Fire and Rescue Service in the best way possible
