The Emergency First Responder (EFR) scheme in the East Riding of Yorkshire has been shortlisted for one of Fire Magazine’s Excellence in Fire and Emergency Awards 2015 (the EFEs).
The EFEs is a celebration of innovative working practices, initiatives, partnerships and technology in the fire and emergency services. The awards ceremony will be held on 4 December at the prestigious One Great George Street, Westminster, London.
The EFR scheme between HFRS and the Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) was submitted under the Partnership of the Year category. The award will be presented to a multi-agency team working across the blue-light services that has participated in a partnership which has made a discernible improvement to the community they serve.

Significantly the HFRS met the required response standard on 81% of occasions, which has provided a substantial overall performance contribution for YAS of 1.5% for Red 1 and Red 2 medical incidents, those deemed to be immediately life threatening.
Keep an eye out for the results from London which will be posted here after the winners are announced on 4 December.
