The incident is under control but a 50m cordon remains in place in the area.
Eastfield Primary School has been evacuated as a precautionary measure along with other properties within the cordon area.
Road closures are in place around Calvert Lane, Pickering Rd, North Rd and Anlaby Rd, avoid the area if possible.
