Today, we congratulate and welcome 13 Full-Time firefighters and four On-Call firefighters who have successfully completed our final recruits' courses for the year, marking the beginning of their careers at Humberside Fire and Rescue Service.
In a proud moment witnessed by their families and friends, our latest recruits showcased their commitment and skills in firefighting and life-saving techniques. Firefighter Marco Fummo was honoured with a silver axe by our Training Instructors in recognition of their exemplary performance and unwavering attitude throughout.
On-Call firefighters will be serving at the following fire stations:
- Cleethorpes
- Goole
- Preston
- Withernsea
Chief Fire Officer Phil Shillito expressed his pride as new firefighters join the Humberside fire family, stating, “Today marks the start of a career that promises both challenges and fulfilment, accompanied by great responsibility. I am very proud of the hard work displayed by our recruits and to witness our Full-Time and On-Call firefighters working together, as they so often do at incidents.”
Our values and behaviours in the Core Code of Ethics are what make us who we are as an organisation and we must all continually strive to build on the trust placed upon us by our communities. Whether in a vulnerable person's home, helping them to be safe, or involved in rescuing someone from the worst moment of their life.”
“As we prepare to recruit again in the New Year, I hope today serves as an inspiration for those aspiring to pursue an incredibly rewarding career dedicated to supporting our community. Further details about our forthcoming Recruitment Awareness Days will be promoted on our website and social media accounts.”
