Today we congratulate and welcome 12 On-Call firefighters to the Humberside Fire family.
Our latest recruits demonstrated the skills they have learned over recent weeks in front of family and friends as our class of 2022 celebrates the culmination of 8 weeks of hard work.
Chris Blacksell, Chief Fire Officer, said: “Every firefighter plays a critical role in keeping our communities and each other safe. The pride and satisfaction in serving the community and being part of this incredible team cannot be underestimated.
Our On-Call firefighters play a pivotal role within their local community, working around their primary employment to be available to respond to 999 emergencies. They gain many transferrable skills through training to be an On-Call firefighter, including team working, leadership, communication, first aid, trauma care, and much more.”
“Today is the start of a career that is both challenging and rewarding but also brings with it great responsibility. I am so very proud of the hard work our recruits have done and watch them pass out from the recruits course.”
We look forward to seeing our new firefighters join their local fire stations and support their communities at:
