‘Beyond Blue Lights’ is a long-form current-affairs style programme, anchored by Natasha Kaplinsky, which has been produced for the Chief Fire Officers Association (CFOA) and beyond to explore the role and importance of the Fire and Rescue Service in the UK.
Humberside Fire and Rescue Service was one of 11 fire services to take part and chose to highlight the massive changes taking place on both sides of the Humber estuary and the innovative public-private partnerships it has set up. The film was premiered this week at the CFOA annual conference.

'Beyond Blue Lights' was produced by ITN Productions for the entire sector and beyond, as a means of contributing and affecting the conference debates .
The film will inspire and equip the industry, raise awareness of issues, challenge perceptions and bring greater understanding of projects and initiatives happening all over the UK.
It will help stakeholders such as local government and partner agencies understand the scope of the fire and rescue service and the ways in which the services can be utilised even further with regards to prevention and identification of potential risk. Raising awareness of fire safety has also been a key theme, as well as giving advice and guidance on how fire and rescue services can better communicate with their communities and the responsibilities members of those communities have.
