Dene Sanders, Chief Fire Officer and Chief Executive of Humberside Fire and Rescue Service, is to retire later this year.
After nearly 31 years in the Service, Dene will step down on 9 September, 2017.
Recruitment of a new Chief Fire Officer will take place over the coming weeks and months to ensure a smooth handover.
Councillor John Briggs, Chair of Humberside Fire Authority, wished Mr Sanders well in his retirement:
‘Dene has served Humberside Fire and Rescue Service with distinction since 1986 and has led the organisation over recent years with professionalism and enthusiasm. I have enjoyed working with him through some significant operational and budgetary challenges, but am assured that his successor will take over a Service on an even financial footing and with a new structure better placed to keep our communities safer than ever.’
