As the nights draw in and winter is just around the corner, many will begin to rely on electric blankets for extra warmth at bedtime.
Humberside Fire and Rescue Service would like to remind those who use electric blankets to ensure that they are fit for purpose and haven't been damaged in storage during the warmer summer months.
Simple checks can be made before using them and manufacturers' instructions should be followed at all times.
Please assist elderly or vulnerable relatives or friends with their electric blanket this winter.
