Easy read information on fire safety from Speakup Self Advocacy and South Yorkshire and Humberside Fire and Rescue Services.

As part of this year’s Learning Disability Week, we are highlighting the No Smoke Without Fire, a fire safety booklet that was created between Speakup Self Advocacy and South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, and later adopted by Humberside Fire and Rescue Service. The free booklet was created by and designed for people with learning disabilities and/or autism. Download your copy here.

This year the charity Mencap is marking Learning Disability Week by celebrating friendship. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we have all been living in lockdown. This means that many people with a learning disability are feeling isolated, as they have been unable to see their friends and families. Now, more than ever, is the time to reach out to your family and friends, and make sure they stay safe from fire.
