Humberside Fire and Rescue Service (HFRS) staff and partners of the Service have been recognised as part of an annual awards ceremony.

The 11th annual Recognition Awards are set to take place at Hessle’s Country Park Inn on Friday 22 November and the evening celebrates members of HFRS staff and partners who have made a positive impact on their peers, the organisation or the community.

There are eight categories in total, each of which is shown below. Almost 100 nominations were received from members of HFRS staff and these were whittled down to just three in each category by a panel of judges.

A special Chief’s Award will be presented to a member of staff who has been chosen by Chief Fire Officer and Chief Executive Chris Blacksell.

The categories, including sponsors, are shown below:

Team of the Year (sponsored by Bristol Uniforms)

Outstanding Contribution (sponsored by Lampada Digital Solutions)

Fire Station/Watch of the Year (sponsored by Scania)

Partnership of the Year (sponsored by Hobson Porter)

Innovation (sponsored by Howdens Joinery)

Outstanding Contribution to The Fire Fighters Charity (sponsored by Connexin)

Team Mate of the Year (sponsored by PBI Performance Products)

Local Hero Award (sponsored by Capsticks Solicitors LLP)

Chief’s Award (sponsored by FireAngel)

The Local Hero Award category includes members of the Humberside community as voted for by members of the public.

Up to 200 guests are expected to attend the celebration event, which will be hosted by local radio presenter Darren Lethem. Appearances by other special guests are expected on the evening.
