Title: Positive Attraction Manager

Contract Type: Full time, 37 hours

Salary: Grade 10 (£39,862 - £41,771)

Location: Service Headquarters

Closing Date: Tuesday 2nd June 2026 at 12 noon

An exciting, new, opportunity has arisen to join Humberside Fire and Rescue Service (HFRS) as a Positive Attraction Manager, a pivotal role supporting our ambition to be an inclusive, values‑led and community‑focused employer.

This is a specialist role focused on how we attract, engage and inspire people to join and work with HFRS. You will lead the development and delivery of innovative attraction and outreach activity, strengthening our recruitment pipeline across operational, support, on‑call, apprentice and volunteer roles.

Working at both strategic and community level, you will help ensure our workforce reflects the communities we serve and that HFRS is recognised as an employer of choice across the Humber region and beyond.

Key role requirements (knowledge, skills and experience):

  • A qualification to graduate level (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline such as Human Resource Management, Business or Change Management, Communications/Media or Marketing.
  • A strong understanding of attraction, employer branding, outreach or recruitment marketing.
  • Knowledge of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion legislation, including the Equality Act 2010 and Public Sector Equality Duty.
  • Experience of working with diverse communities and building effective partnerships.
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills, including public speaking and presentation.
  • The ability to use data and insight to shape and improve approaches.
  • A creative, proactive mindset with the confidence to challenge existing practice and explore new ways of working.
