Title: Protection Manager

Contract Type: Full time

Salary: Grade 11 - £44,075 - £46,142 + out of hours rota allowance

Location: Service Headquarters

Closing Date: noon Tuesday 12th May 2026

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Protection Manager to join the Protection function at Humberside Fire and Rescue Service.

We are seeking an experienced and collaborative leader to join our Protection Management team. Working alongside fellow managers, you will contribute to the strategic direction, professional leadership, and operational oversight of all elements of the Protection function.

This role carries significant responsibility for leading and ensuring a consistent approach to Protection activities across Humberside. You will ensure work is prioritised effectively and aligned with organisational objectives, risk, and statutory responsibilities, supported by appropriate assurance and reporting processes.

Key role requirements (knowledge, skills and experience):

•    A sound understanding of Fire Safety processes, procedures, legislation and sector challenges.
•    Proven experience within a Fire Safety enforcement environment.
•    Minimum level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety.
•    Minimum level 5 Management qualification.
•    Strong stakeholder management skills.
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•    Ability to lead by example and promote inclusivity.
