Title: Quality Assurance Manager
Contract Type: Full time, 37 hours
Salary: Grade 9 (£36,363 - £38,220)

An exciting, new, opportunity has arisen for a Quality Assurance Manager at Humberside Fire and Rescue Service (HFRS) to provide professional leadership, oversight and assurance across all assessment and verification activity within the Service.
This is a critical role ensuring that assessment processes linked to training pathways, operational competence, development portfolios and promotion frameworks are fair, transparent, robust and fully compliant with organisational, sector and national standards.
You will play a central role in strengthening confidence in our systems of assessment and assurance, supporting organisational learning, workforce development and continuous improvement across HFRS.
Key role requirements (knowledge, skills and experience):
- Strong experience in assessment, internal quality assurance or verification, ideally within complex or highly regulated environments.
- A thorough understanding of IQA principles, governance requirements and sampling methodologies.
- Knowledge of national qualification and assessment standards and quality assurance frameworks.
- The ability to analyse data, identify risk and translate findings into clear, actionable insight.
- Strong influencing and communication skills, with the confidence to provide challenge and assurance at all levels of the organisation.
- A professional, fair and values‑led approach, with a strong commitment to equity, consistency and transparency.
- Degree‑level qualification or equivalent professional experience.
- A recognised assessment or quality assurance qualification (e.g. CAVA, IQA Level 4, or equivalent); or working towards one.
