Overnight snow and further Amber Weather Warnings for parts of our region have made some of our roads hazardous.

Please drive to the conditions and remember that during lockdown, only essential journeys are permissable.

Gritting lorries have been and will be out in force, but be aware that some minor roads will not have been treated.

According to the Highways Agency, stopping distances can be up to 10 times as far in very wet or icy conditions, so keep your distance from the car in front.

There is likelihood of ice later in the day as temperatures drop once again and slush may become frozen.

Ensure that all snow and ice is cleared from your vehicle before setting out. Even snow left on a car roof can prove hazardous for any following veicle.
