Chuck the dog becomes part of the K9 Memorial Roll of Honour, his heroic actions will always be remembered.

This lovable dog sadly passed away in January 2021, following heart and liver problems.

Chuck was part of the K9 Fire Investigation team and at just three years old, had been involved in over 100 high risk missing person searches with Humberside Police.

To commemorate Chuck, Humberside Fire and Rescue Service (HFRS) and Humberside Police have registered this heroic dog on the K9 Memorial Roll of Honour.

K9 Memorial UK recognise dogs from around the world that have made the ultimate sacrifice. Each dog is remembered in their own unique way, and K9 Memorial UK share these magnificent memorials.

Mick Shooter, Co-founder of K9 Fire Investigation was surprised to hear about Chuck’s Memorial Roll of Honour.

“Not being directedly employed by the Fire Service or the Police I didn’t expect Chuck to get any recognition for the contribution he made with regards to the searches he was involved in for high risk missing persons. I feel proud that he has been honoured in this way”.

Mick shares fond memories of Chuck and recalls the immense pride he felt when Chuck located a missing person, or when he contributed to the find.

“At home he was a real character, never failing to make you smile. He had no spatial awareness, often trying to climb onto your knee. He was always jumping all over Etta, our fire investigation dog, trying to get her to play.”

K9 Fire Investigation continue to do great work within the Humber area, supporting HFRS and Humberside Police with fire investigations, crime scene investigations and missing persons cases.

Chuck 02/04/2017 – 20/01/2021.

Always remembered.
