25 new On-Call Firefighters will receive their alerters today (Wednesday 11 December) as they complete their On-Call recruits course.
The On-Call Firefighters will take part in a Passing Out Parade in front of their friends and families during the day, which takes place at Humberside Fire and Rescue Service Headquarters.
Recruits will each receive a framed certificate in recognition of them successfully completing the course and the ‘Silver Axe’ will be presented to the top recruit, which is decided upon by the Training Instructors.
The On-Call Firefighters will then be deployed to various Stations across the Service area, including: Crowle, Brigg, Bridlington, Market Weighton, Hornsea, Waltham, Beverley, Winterton, Scunthorpe, Patrington, Driffield and Epworth.
