As we look back on 2025, we’re proud of the incredible efforts our teams have made to support local communities across the region.

Back to hours Humberside Fire

From festive initiatives and fetes to vital welfare support, these moments truly reflected our commitment to making a difference above and beyond emergency response.

As part of our Christmas Present Appeal, our newest firefighter recruits and training instructors delivered hundreds of gifts to Dove House Hospice and the Queens Centre for Oncology at Castle Hill Hospital. These gifts brought joy to those receiving cancer treatment, in respite or end-of-life care.

This year, we embraced the festive spirit by taking part in Hull’s “Back to Ours” parade, bringing joy and connection to the heart of the city.

Alongside these festive efforts, we also strengthened partnerships that will make a lasting difference to our communities.

One of our highlights was our collaboration with Love Driffield Charity. Our Driffield crew joined their volunteers to pack bags of presents for families in need.

Love Driffield also kindly donated spare gifts towards our Christmas Appeal and provided foodbank vouchers for our firefighters to distribute to the community, making a real difference to those in need.

As part of this collaboration, we’re delivering fire safety prevention information at their open days, continuing our aim to keep communities safe and informed.

Another standout moment was the Peaks Lane Firefighters’ Fete, which raised an incredible £14,500, including £3,000 for St Andrew’s Hospice. This much-loved annual event brought families together for a day of fun and fundraising, showcasing the community spirit that defines our Service.

Throughout December, our crews visited numerous local locations to provide support, advice and reassurance. Here are just some of the places we were proud to assist:

  • Blossom – Self-Harm and Suicide Prevention
  • Humber Bridge
  • West Hull Community Hub
  • Community Centre, Bransholme
  • St Philips
  • Vineyard Centre
  • Welcome House
  • Amazing Grace Chapel
  • RSPCA
  • Hull Minster

These visits included prevention advice and community engagement, helping to build stronger and, safer communities.

Thank you to everyone involved for making these initiatives possible. Your dedication and compassion have had a lasting impact, and we look forward to continuing this vital work in 2026.
