The ICC scooped the Best NHS Collaboration Award at the national Health Business Awards yesterday (Thursday 6 December).
The award comes only weeks after the centre won the Innovation in Health & Social Care Award at the Health and Care Awards.
The Health Business Awards event recognises excellence in the provision of NHS facilities. Taking place at the Grange Hotel, London, the NHS Collaboration Award celebrates an innovative collaboration between the NHS and another service.
Judges said of the Jean Bishop Integrated Care Centre: “[The ICC] is an innovative new facility has the potential to reduce unnecessary hospital admissions and enables residents to keep fit and healthy and living independently in their own homes. The longer-term aim of the centre is to reduce unplanned admissions by up to 20 per cent and is forecasted to save the NHS up to £5.8million.
“2018 marks the 70th anniversary of the NHS. While much remains to be done to ensure it can keep up with changing demands, the Health Business Awards is staged in order to recognise the many examples of innovation and excellence that happens every day.”
